This is our story, the story of extra virgin olive oil, the story of olive trees, the story of Nuve Olivo.

Nuve Olivo is the result of the pure and sincere vision of some lovers of the countryside, sunrises and roads. Lovers of the frosts, dews and mountains. Lovers of the first trills of the day and especially of the smell of olive groves from the height of the penibetic mountain range. Their idyll with the olive grove continues because they are also lovers of the oil mill, the sound of pressing the olives, the secrets of making high-altitude EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil), one of the most appreciated types of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, made with olives from olive groves that are located in the mountains. That altitude provides the oil with that flavor so characteristic and appreciated.

That is where Nuve Olivo was born, an unfiltered Extra Virgin Olive Oil, produced on a 19th century Andalusian farmhouse completely remodeled and equipped with modern machinery, in which the original plant has been maintained and a small oil mill with stone mill and traditional extraction system with presses and capachos has been kept. With the denomination of Priego de Córdoba oil, the most awarded denomination of origin in the world with more than 1000 recognitions. The mill is located in the natural park of the Subbética Cordobesa in the foothills of La Tiñosa, the highest geodesic point in the province of Cordoba, surrounded by centenary olive trees of the varieties picudo and hojiblanco.

It is a well known area for the high quality of its juices. This quality is directly related to the quality of the environment, since the altitude, the soil, the traditional cultivation and the special environmental conditions enjoyed by our olive trees are reflected in the aromatic power and complexity of our extra virgin olive oil.

 

This mill was a pioneer in the production of early oils starting at the end of the 90s. As a result of the good work in the process and the exceptional raw materials it has achieved numerous national and international awards: AEMO Award to the best oil mill in Spain, 7 awards from the Ministry of Agriculture to the best extra virgin olive oil in Spain, Food of Spain Award, 4 awards from the International Olive Oil Council, awards in Italy, France, Portugal, Greece, Germany, Argentina, Canada, USA, Zurich and a long list of others that made it a world reference of quality in the first decade of the 2000s.

A place where the best conditions come together to set in motion the dream of some lovers of high altitude virgin olive oil, surrounded by a nature with which we work, live, respect and to which we will always be grateful.
